Exciting News for IUP: First PA Drone Association Award!
2024 EDUCATIONAL ELLIE AWARD WINNER
Indiana University of Pennsylvania Under the leadership of Dr. John Benhart and his colleagues, IUP is educating and advancing the next generation of drone operators and innovators through their university’s GIS program. More than just training their students to successfully complete the FAA Part 107 remote exam, IUP is demonstrating the real-world applications that drones are capable of now and challenging their students to consider the expanding roles unmanned aviation can play towards improving the quality of life throughout Pennsylvania. Unlocking the power of successful collaborations with the PA Drone Association, AERIUM, Indiana County, and other aviation leaders, IUP is leading their students into a future that is not only exciting and “cool,” but that help solve the growing challenges of sustainability, workforce development, and economic viability for towns and communities throughout Pennsylvania.
The PA Drone Association will celebrate the contributions of these awardees on Thursday, December 12, 2024 starting at 1:00pm in the Pennsylvania State Capital Building Rotunda. Lunch and light refreshments will be served. There is no admission fee, but we do request that you RSVP to jgd@elevatepa.net by December 11, 2024, so we can properly accommodate our guests.
