Location: Conemaugh River (Robinson to Blairsville)
Join us for an unforgettable outdoor adventure at the Paddle and Picnic, presented by Friends of Blairsville Communities! This exciting event features a 10-mile kayaking trip along the scenic Conemaugh River, offering breathtaking views and a fun, active way to explore nature.
Paddlers will launch from Robinson and journey downriver to Blairsville, enjoying the peaceful flow of the water, wildlife sightings, and camaraderie with fellow outdoor enthusiasts. After the paddle, participants can unwind and refuel at a relaxing riverside picnic, complete with great food and good company.
Important Details:
- Limited spaces available – Register early to secure your spot!
- Kayak rentals are available upon request.
- All participants must wear a personal flotation device (PFD) while on the water.
- Recommended for paddlers with some experience due to the length of the trip.

Directions to Blairsville take-out (Lat 40 25 52 Long 79 16 11)
If coming from west, take US 22 E to PA 217 (Blairsville) exit ramp right, and follow Walnut St. into town. If coming from east, take US W to PA 217 exit, turn LEFT and follow Walnut St into town. Go to the former National Guard Armory, which looks like a castle and is located next to the library. If you get to the Sheetz you have gone too far. Turn RIGHT onto E North Ave at the Armory and go straight until the street ends behind the Lutheran Church. You’ll be at the take-out along the Conemaugh River.
Directions to Robinson Community Center (Start)- 290 Caroline St, Robinson, PA 15949
From Route 22 – Take PA 259 S (From US 30 take PA 259 north) toward Robinson/Bolivar. About a half-mile before you reach the river, turn LEFT onto Caroline St. in Robinson (RIGHT if coming from south, after coming through Bolivar and crossing river). Proceed about a half-mile and the park will be on your RIGHT.
